During the recent Andermatt CEO Meeting 2024, held in the beautiful city of Bayonne, France from September 2nd –5th, we seized the opportunity to interview Daniel Zingg. We were eager to hear his insights on the strategic importance of this key annual event!
1. What is the primary objective of this annual CEO meeting, and how does it align with the company’s broader strategic goals?
We discussed strategy, leadership, branding, marketing, and product development. The goal was to share ideas and learn from each other’s experiences to enhance our strategy and culture.
2. How do you see this meeting shaping the direction of the company in the upcoming year?
I believe that improving processes and collaboration will lead to better customer focus and satisfaction.
3. What key outcomes were you hoping to achieve from this gathering of leadership?
We aimed to increase dialogue and understanding of the challenges in the individual markets and better cooperation within the Group, to enhance the customer journey.
4. Why is it important for the company to hold this meeting annually, and how does it contribute to the company’s success?
Leadership time together is invaluable. It’s crucial for team spirit, maintaining the Andermatt culture and commitment, which drives our success.
5. How does this meeting help foster alignment and collaboration among the global leadership team?
The meeting breaks down barriers, encourages openness, and resolves misunderstandings, allowing for coordinated and aligned planning.
6. How do these meetings enhance the company’s ability to respond to global market challenges and opportunities?
By sharing experiences, leaders can better assess and respond to global challenges and opportunities.
7. How does the internal CEO meeting impact the company’s employees, and what message do you hope to send to them through this event?
This year, we held a variety of events where different groups of employees had the chance to exchange ideas with management. The energy generated was palpable and is expected to boost employee motivation and satisfaction for the long term.
8. What role does this meeting play in maintaining the company’s reputation and relationships with external stakeholders?
Andermatt will present a clearer and more united front globally, which various external stakeholders will recognize as a reflection of our strong culture and high level of integrity.
9. Can you share any specific initiatives or strategies discussed during this meeting that will be particularly relevant to our stakeholders?
Andermatt are committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions through the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi) in line with the Paris Agreement.
10. How have these annual meetings evolved, and what changes have been made to improve their effectiveness?
Early meetings focused on building a unified strategy. Now, we prioritize key topics based on feedback from previous meeting along with future focused objectives.
11. What is the most significant takeaway from this year’s meeting that you would like to highlight to internal and external audiences?
Face-to-face meetings remain crucial for fostering culture, motivation, and unity, especially in the post-COVID era.
